Privacy policy
Restaurants Brossard is a public directory. We aim to collect as little data as technically possible.
What we don't do
- No advertising.
- We use Plausible — a privacy-friendly analytics service — for aggregate visit and click counts only: no cookies, no cross-site tracking or profiles, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers. It briefly processes your IP address server-side to count a visit, then discards it without storing it or building a profile.
- No personal accounts, and no personal information is collected as you browse.
- Search queries are processed on the server and are not stored or logged for tracking.
When you contact us
The only time we receive personal information is when you choose to send it — for example using the contact, report-an-error, suggest-a-restaurant or for-restaurant-owners forms. Those forms collect the name, email address and message you enter, plus the restaurant they relate to.
We use that information only to read, reply to and act on your submission (for example, to correct a listing). It is sent through Formspree, a third-party form-delivery provider; it is not used for advertising or tracking, and is not sold. By submitting a form you also agree to our terms of use.
Disclosure outside Québec: information you submit through a form is delivered by Formspree, whose servers are in the United States. Our visitor-analytics service, Plausible, processes its data in the European Union. This takes place outside Québec; before relying on these providers we assess whether each affords adequate protection, and we limit what is transmitted to what is necessary.
Retention and your rights
We keep the information you send us only as long as needed to handle and follow up on your request — at most 24 months — after which it is deleted. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to ask us to delete it. To exercise these rights, or for any question about how your personal information is protected, write to our privacy officer at [email protected].
Cookies
The site sets only one cookie — the essential Django CSRF token that protects forms from cross-site request forgery. It is not used to track you.
Maps and third parties
Map tiles are self-hosted, so loading the map does not share your IP address or browsing with any third party.
Data sources
Restaurant information is compiled and verified by us and is our own dataset. The interactive map's basemap comes from OpenStreetMap (under the ODbL licence), and transit information comes from the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL).
